Story - today and tomorrow
While the COVID-19 pandemic has left the world grappling with the after effects, yet it surely has instilled strong family values in all of us. It has given us the time to introspect and figure out where we want to go. The direction we want to head towards.
While we are working from home along side our immense work pressure, some interesting facts have emerged. We are more productive, more responsible and our focus levels have gotten way better than pre pandemic. I would say that the office politics which ended up taking a toll on our time space has now reduced to nil. We can focus peacefully on delivering high quality work. We have also been exposed to huge learning platforms from which we can now easily learn something new (if we wish to!) on the flip side, we have also taken up a keen interest in all the digital content now available on clicks of few buttons. Are we spending our lives in the digital world and less in the real world, is a question i often wonder.
Amongst staying up late to finish our work and also wondering on the release of the new series which is much talked about, i think mental exhaustion and fatigue is the new lifestyle anomaly. Though there are the wise segment of humans who have taken this opportunity to transform themselves into a fitter, healtier and happier version of themselves, there are a segment who have adopted the easier way - no office, no travelling, no exercise, no movement and finally lethargic self leading to mental exhaustion.
So what are we really doing with this additional time we get in between work, in between our daily routine ? Hoping to catch up on another episode of the new series or are we going out for a quick walk in the sun ?
This year onwards i want to be the one stepping out into the sun, picking up the phone and calling up and old friend, picking up a book and attempting to read a couple of pages.
If not anything, this pandemic has taught us that life is uncertain and short. Our lives are happening here and now with an uncertain tomorrow. So i wish we all can open our eyes and watch the sun, stare at the sky and count the stars because this is life happening all around us and it's not stopping for you and me!
